Fear, and joy

Ignorant of joy and its unalterable indestructibility, fear is afraid joy will be lost. So, fear holds tight to itself and the few shiny objects that distract itself from implosion into unconsciousness. Even in amassing all manners of things material, fear remains intrinsically inconsolable. Reason is a foreign language to fear and though it has never seen joy, it fears for its extinction. Joy understands all this and knows no fear. In joy, no fear exists. It is incapable of even conceiving of such an abberation, such a denial of life as joy knows it. If fear is a chronically unhappy jealous child, joy is an only child of parents, gratitude and generosity.
